Account snapshots are encrypted using Windows DPAPI or macOS Keychain. Moving to another computer? Transfer them in a password-encrypted credential file.

Credentials and session history are not uploaded to the project author. Sign-in, quota checks, and token refresh connect to official OpenAI services.

Is this an official OpenAI app?

No. CodexAuth Switch is an independently developed open-source project and is not affiliated with OpenAI. It manages your own Codex App accounts and does not provide accounts or subscriptions.

Does it cost anything?

CodexAuth Switch is free and open source under the MIT license. You manage your own Codex / ChatGPT accounts and subscriptions. This tool does not increase or bypass official account quotas.

Do Windows and macOS have the same features?

Both provide account management, quota and local usage views, and credential migration. Automatic switching and task resumption currently target Windows. Native macOS login, Keychain, and full GUI workflows still await end-to-end testing on a real Mac. See the repository and release notes for details.

Can this website access my real accounts?

No. This interactive preview uses fictional accounts and sample quotas. It does not read local login files. Download the desktop app to manage real accounts on your own computer.

Is local usage the same as my official account total?

No. Token usage comes from local Codex logs and depends on the available records and selected scope. Quota information includes its source and timestamp. Local statistics are not the complete official history of your account.
